The knot is the best choice when joining a braided line to a stronger leader. This should only be used when joining a braided line to a mono or fluoro line (aim for 12-14 turns to ensure proper locking of the coil facing the lure).

When tying, care should be taken to ensure the coil facing the lure is properly locked in place.
