Residence Visa Checklist

You will need all originals plus 1 photocopy for each step.

1. Spouse applies for temporary residence (if spouse not local - ~6 months)
   • Landlord's ID card (front and back - photocopies only I think)
   • Rental Agreement (signed and thumb print)
   • Landlord's deed for the house (certificate, plan of the building)
2. Apply for own temporary registration (required for every new visa - 30 mins)
   • Marriage certificate
   • Spouse's ID card (front and back)
   • Spouse's temporary residence certificate
   • Landlord's ID card (front and back)
   • Rental Agreement (signed and thumb print)
   • Landlord's deed for the house (certificate, plan of the building)
3. [Optional] Apply for medical certificate (9-11am Mon-Fri) (~1 hour, 300 RMB)
   • Arrive before 11am without having eaten anything that day
   • Passport
   • 2 passport photos
   • Pickup within 4-5 days
4. Apply for residence visa (contact Yangshuo PSB in advance to check if the person is available to process the application). Yangshuo/Guilin PSB opening times: Mon-Fri 08:30-12:00, 15:00-18:00
   • Invitation letter from spouse (signed and thumb print)
   • Spouse's ID card (front and back)
   • Own current passport (main page)
   • Own current passport (visa page)
   • Own current passport (entrance stamp)
   • Passport used for marriage (main page only)
   • Marriage cert (red book - all pages)
   • Notarised marriage certificate (main page only)
   • Spouse's hukou (main page)
   • Spouse's hukou (own page)
   • Own temporary registration certificate
   • Spouse's residence certificate
   • Passport photo with QR code (available at Yangshuo PSB free of charge, or 30 RMB across the road from the Guilin PSB)
   • [Optional] Medical certificate (all pages)
